The $100 per week technology fee buys the use of Fish's software. The software licence itself is a separate one-time $3,500 charge inside the office package at signing. The royalty and Brand Building Fee are charged on the billing basis on top of that.

Membership Fee
The Membership Fee covers the ongoing side of what an operator gets from the League: the 7-Step Process the work runs on, training and onboarding in it, the national brand and the marketing infrastructure behind it, and continuing support.
Some operating tools are billed separately from the Membership Fee, including Home360, the CRM. We would rather say so here than have you find out later. Ask for the itemized list of what is included and what is billed separately when we speak — you should have it in writing before you decide anything.
The Minimum Performance Standard, explained
This is the part of the fee structure that is easiest to miss and hardest to undo. Fish's royalty and Brand Building Fee are charged on the greater of your actual Gross Sales or an Applicable Minimum Performance Standard. If you sell less than the standard, you are billed as though you had sold it.

You expect to stay small
Below roughly $108,889 a year in sales, Fish's percentage-based structure costs less in absolute dollars than a flat $15,000 Membership Fee. A flat fee only becomes the cheaper structure above that crossover. If a single van is the plan, say so and run the numbers above at your figure.
You want a fee that falls in a bad year
A percentage of sales flexes down when sales drop; a flat fee does not. Fish's Minimum Performance Standard limits how far that flex goes, but in the early term years the floor is low, and a structure that moves with revenue is a real advantage if your volume is uneven.
You want a long track record to study
Fish discloses an Item 19 financial performance representation covering 275 franchised outlets, with cohort revenue from the top 10% down to the bottom of the range. That is a substantial amount of history to read before deciding, and it is worth reading properly.
Questions about Fish Window Cleaning's costs
How much does a Fish Window Cleaning franchise cost to open?
Fish discloses three packages. The initial franchise fee is $49,900 for Small, $59,900 for Standard and $74,900 for Executive. Adding the Business Development Package and the portion of the office package paid to Fish or its affiliates, the amount paid to the franchisor comes to $61,400–$62,900, $71,400–$72,900 and $86,400–$87,900 respectively. Total initial investment from all sources is disclosed as $111,900–$129,900, $134,800–$149,900 and $161,800–$179,900.
What ongoing fees does Fish Window Cleaning charge?
A royalty on a marginal scale — 8% to $500,000, then 7% to $900,000, 6% to $1,200,000 and 5% above that — plus a Brand Building Fee of 1% and a technology fee of $100 per week, which is $5,200 a year. Separately, Fish requires a monthly marketing spend of $1,500, $2,500 or $3,500 by package. That spend is required but is not paid to Fish.
What is the Fish Window Cleaning Minimum Performance Standard?
The royalty and Brand Building Fee are charged on the greater of your actual Gross Sales or an Applicable Minimum Performance Standard that rises every year of the term. If you sell less than the standard, you are billed as though you had sold the standard. On the Executive package the weekly minimum rises from $1,430 in year one to $8,250 in year ten, which is $429,000 a year.
Does a Fish Window Cleaning franchise come with an exclusive territory?
No. Item 12 of the disclosure document states that you will not receive an exclusive territory, and that you may face competition from other franchisees, from outlets the franchisor owns, and from other channels of distribution or competitive brands it controls.
What do Fish Window Cleaning franchisees actually make?
Fish publishes a financial performance representation in Item 19. For the fiscal year ended 31 December 2025 it disclosed average total revenue of $1,444,227 for the top 10%, $799,767 for the top half and $261,912 for the bottom half, with a median of $254,427 in the bottom half and $61,872 at the bottom of the range. There were 275 franchised outlets at year end, with 7 permanent closures during 2025 and 11 during 2024. These are Fish system figures and describe past performance of that system only.
How does Worried Bird charge instead?
A flat Membership Fee of $15,000 a year, billed monthly, with no percentage of sales and no minimum performance standard. Joining costs a one-time League Fee of $10,000 plus a Territory Fee of $0.50 per owner-occupied household — $60,000 in total for a 100,000-household territory. Because the fee is flat, its share of your sales falls as you grow rather than rising with you.
